How do I check my Blog?

I used to be surprised to see this question from many beginner bloggers. I helped in guiding many people in starting a blog. One query was common amongst all. When numerous people started asking, “How do I check my Blog?” I realized not everyone has got technical skills and computer knowledge. People enter into the blogging field from different fields, so it is possible for them to not have the right knowledge of simple things too.

I wrote the blog but where is my blog?

Here, is a complete guideline to find your blog on WordPress. It will help other bloggers who are not on WordPress too. Because the steps remain almost similar.

Step 1 :

You have written the blog and published it and now you want to share it.
You want to view the display of your blog on the desktop and the Mobile.
Once you are logged in WordPress, you will see the page same as this image:
If you are unable to view this image, zoom your screen or right click your mouse and choose “Open image in new tab”. ( Do the same for all the images in this post.)

You can notice on the left side, there are two buttons.
My Sites and Reader.
Click on My Sites.

My Sites Reader

You will see the items the same as the above image on the left side of the page. On the right side, there will be names/list of your blog.

Step 2 :

There are two ways of viewing the site, the easiest way is this one.

In the left top side of the page, Right-click your mouse on the button View Site.
You can now choose the option from the right-click list.
You can either click:
Open link in new tab
Open link in new window

If you are using Chrome and want to open your site in incognito mode, then
Open link in incognito window

This will direct you to your site display. The image below is my site view.

Site URL

I have marked red color drawing on the bit upper side. I will explain it in Step 4.

Step 3:

The second way of viewing your site is :
Click directly on View Site button.
You will see your site similar to the below image.

My Sites

You can choose from the top bar, whether you want to see the display for Desktop, Tablet, Phone, Search & Social. No need to break your head more, simply choose Desktop. You can check other views later once you learn the steps in this guideline.

Options to View

My Sites

Click on Visit Site button on the right top side of the page.
You will be redirected to your site display.

URL View

Step 4 :

What is your site URL and how do you share it with others?
How will you check your site anytime?
Look at this image:

URL View

The red mark part is your site URL. It is also known as the address or link of your site.
1] Just click on that link.
Right-click and choose Select all
2] Right click mouse and choose Copy option.
3] Go to any of your social media or other sites you want to share.
Right-click mouse and choose Paste option.

Extra Step:

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is ice_screenshot_20190330-161141-1.png

If you see same or similar buttons anywhere on your site, usually footer or sidebar of the site, then click on the button to share on the social media sites. You can directly click on any of the buttons. If you are already logged in to the respective social media then it will directly share on your profile.
In case, you are not logged in, the window will prompt asking you to log in.
After the login, the post will be ready to be shared on your site.

Any questions, write it in the comment or reach out to

Bloggers around the World

Bloggers around the World

Bloggers around the world

I am writing this post based on what I observed. I previously wrote this article focusing mainly on Indian bloggers. This time I am updating it by taking into consideration the bloggers around the world.

Blogging has turned out to be the most common thing all around the world. It is also a taboo that only an unemployed people write blogs. But, the truth is even an employed ones love blogging. Earlier, bloggers were considered as only writers platform. Over a period of time, it has turned into a writing personal life. The usage of blogging platform for each one of us differ as per our requirements. Some of us write here to share thoughts or experiences while rest may write related to teaching or business purpose.

Indian Bloggers

Indian Bloggers

It does not feel good to write that most of the Indian bloggers are not really good at appreciating other’s blogs. I can clearly say most of the Indian bloggers are lacking exposure. A few years back, I came in touch with USA & UK group and I happen to understand how hard they are working for getting readers to their blogs. There were few more Indians but, it was really disesteeming to see how those Indians were only interested in sharing their own blogs and not going through others. Everyone started complaining about Indian members and yet these fellows shamelessly continued to exist in the community to get readers only for their own blogs.

Back in those days, Indian bloggers were not doing it well. But in 2019 some of the bloggers are participating. Although the ratio is very low. If there are 10 Indian bloggers then only 4 will actively participate.

(From the observation of a group which was specifically created only for Indian Bloggers and no one else was allowed from another country) When the technique of connecting Indian Bloggers was being started; out of thousands of bloggers, hardly 4 or 5 were actively involved. There are good helping Indian bloggers and definitely, we don’t want to defame them because of some irresponsible bloggers.

Bloggers around the world

Bloggers around the world

In my previous paragraph, I praised other countries in the World. What is the statistics of 2019?

Slowly, others are also failing to help fellow bloggers. Even with a clear idea of the Blogging Planet, not everyone is able to keep up the task of reading others work.  We are now able to find that some are participating in the reciprocation but not really completing it . We can see people are just skipping away with the lies of already reciprocated.

SEO is hard to break

SEO is hard to break

We are all aware of the changing SEO techniques and analytics going around. People who were gaining profit through their site are now unable to see the same level of returns. SEO techniques have expanded. The number of blogs in today’s stats is greater than the previous data. Because of this reason, it becomes difficult to stand your article on the first page of search engine. The ranking is unpredictable now unless you have a unique topic. So, everyone definitely needs multi ways of bringing traffic to their blog.
The tougher the competition to break the SEO rank, the toughest it is to maintain the connections through social media network.

Networking is vital

Networking is vital

Blogging is not at all easier than sayings. We need to spend time thinking and writing. The next step is to follow up on the SEO guidelines. Then, the person has to start connecting with the people. We can not just post and leave. No one is going to see unless it’s shared. No one is going to see unless it’s shared 100 plus more times. The content should be the best. But, just writing content won’t work anymore.

You need to connect with people to let them know why they should read your articles. You have to read other people blogs so that they read yours. You need to credit other people work so that they think of giving feedback to your blogs too. Unfortunately, the sharing platform has reduced. People are not reading articles on previous shared platforms. Some of the platforms have also started charging for uploading a blog sample. Presently, sharing is mainly limited to Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter to receive a good response.

Respect other’s work

Respect other's work

As mentioned earlier bloggers are the writers, exception sellers and photographers.  As per my observation, we are failing as writers community. Somewhere in the competition world, we have lost the true meaning of a writer. Thousands of bloggers have moved to their own site. Of course in the world of competition, who don’t want a personal site. But, amidst lies few bloggers who can’t afford Domain & Hosts. Hence, they proceed with a free site.  Such free sites usually lose the ranking in SEO.

Every blogger wants to get attention from readers but, are they giving back the same attention to other bloggers?  Are the contents appropriate or it’s only about copying someone else’s content? We see people who write gibberish, hence, do not hold any meaningful content but still do their best through Marketing Strategy.

As bloggers, one must be open to appreciations as well as criticism. Many writers fail to accept criticism. They find it aggressive. Critics will help us improve and leaving a true feedback will help the person to come up with a better article. We need to uplift each other to achieve our goals.

Around the world, bloggers are usually amongst these 7 categories:

1] To earn only through Ads, content is secondary

earn money by writing

Yes, everyone needs to earn. Blogging through affiliate links, sponsorship and ads display is helpful for many people. Blogging can definitely act as the only source or as an alternative for earning purpose.

2]To get fame

I want to be famous

Some fellows have misunderstood that blogging is one of the steps to become popular.

3]To get readers only for own blog

Just Read Me

4]Let everyone read my diary

coffee and diary

5]Blogging is what anyone can do so I will also do it. Write anything !!!

6]Writing is what I love to do and don’t care whether I get readers or not.

idc meme

7]And there are another bunch of people who think once they have started blogging, they can publish their own book too. P.S. publishing book is a good thing as long as you are not naive & your content attract readers.

As the quote says,“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that”

I am thankful to the people who had been taking out time from their busy schedules and genuinely helping other writers with their honest feedback.

The amount of time you spend in sharing your links on all social platforms, try to give half of that time to read other’s blogs too.

” A coterie of writers can lead to a better writing world.” Everyone has to come forward and be involved actively in encouraging others by keeping everyone’s work alive.

Beware Of Evil Bloggers

Millions of bloggers are consistently working hard to be on the top of the SEO market. While many are trying to build up good communities and helping each other out, we cannot avoid vipers. Every industry has bad and good people so does the blogging platform.

When you ask for a review of your site, notice who is giving you the honest feedback.

Whenever you ask for a feedback and suggestions for your website, majority of viewers won’t spend their time on visiting your site. The genuine people will spend few minutes and give you some suggestions as well as critics to improve. They will appreciate your work and wish for your growth.

Few people may give you unnecessary critics because they don’t want any blogger climb up the growth chart. The critics have the intention of demotivating you. Analyze their comment and observe, if there is really any need of those improvements to be done on your site. Share the review with few people to check whether they agree with it. Sometimes people will not check your blog explicitly, but throw up bad feedback. Remember people are watching you in the review and promotional groups. Such bad reviews will put wrong impression about your site on others too. You will eventually lose a good networking in the respective community.

Shameless Copy Cat

Some bloggers will straight away copy and paste your blog post on their site. In case, they have already done good marketing of promoting their site better than you, you may be considered plagiarized by readers. Because your statistics will be lesser than the copycat. Despite of privacy policies, people will violate the rules by using your site images as theirs.

Redo The Topic

Some bloggers copy the title as it is. Sometimes they change the title of blog. They will re-frame your post sentences wherein the context and meaning will remain the same. It’s called as smart copying. When someone does this type of smart copying, there is possibility of your site statistics being affected. On the other hand, readers will think either of you have copied the ideas as it is.

Changing Your View

Some platforms provide rights to the bloggers to change the comments. Hence, your original comment on their post can be changed by them. Be careful. Few bloggers can rewrite your comment into something which is against your original comment. For this reason, you need to have track of your previous comments. Since, you cannot always keep track of comments, you can just write the comments in a way such that there should not be much chance for the blogger to change it.

What type of evil bloggers you came across so far?

Want to be a blogger?

Want to be a Blogger?

I had to repost this from my other site on this page. I have updated this article for more better guidance. I had been getting many questions regarding blogging.
It is a taboo that blogging is done by unemployed people, but that’s not true. Some people get involved in blogging to publish their writing without any expectation of earning whereas some find it as one of the sources of earning. The first and foremost thing is to improve your writing skills. Read lots of articles or books. The more you read, the more you learn to write.

I will mention here the most simple steps to start blogging and the rest will be updated based on new questions. These are the following steps :

1] Why do you want to be a blogger?

Ask yourself the reason you want to be a blogger. Do you want to express something personal through the blog? You want to achieve this and earn money in return? You are not interested in earning money, but want to publish your articles on your site to reach out to fellow friends or readers.
2]What kind of blogger you aspire to be?
a]Mainly stories blogger
b]Random Topics
c]Tutorials/Teaching(Can be any topic)
d]Business Purpose/E-Commerce
e]Sports Blogger
f] Travel Tips/Stories
g]Own Diary/Personal Blog
You can add images, videos, audios in the blog post.

2] First decide whether you want your own site(Self-hosting) or free site.

Own site means you need to purchase a domain and host. Later on, connect it to any platform such as WordPress or BlogSpot or Wix. You can also make WordPress as your site host and domain too.
Free site means you simply create your account on either WordPress or BlogSpot and start publishing your posts. The benefit of having own domain(custom domain) and self-hosting is your site will be eligible for monetization. With the free site, you will not be able to earn. The domain name of the paid site will be of your choice. For Example, You would like to name your domain as HumptyDumpty. The free site address will look like this :
HumptyDumpty. Whereas the paid site domain will be this :

3]How to choose themes for your site?

When you are creating a blog, in the starting steps itself the option will be shown for themes. From the same theme list, you have to choose the one you like. Some themes are paid ones, so it’s up to you to buy it or not. And remember you can always change the theme by going to the “edit” /”customize” option in your blog site.

4] Earning through Ads

You need to have AdSense account to start earning through ads posted on your site. AdSense is provided by Google. WordAds is provided by WordPress. Bloggers on WordPress can purchase a Premium plan to have WordAds and Business plan to have AdSense. Both of them require consistently growing traffic on your site.  When any visitor on your site clicks on those Ads, you earn money for that click. But, you should not click on the Ads on your own site and probably from your IP Address too.

5]Want to have different sites or categories such as poems and stories to be placed differently?

WordPress allows you to have different blog sites from the same account. Follow the below steps:
[a] Login to your WordPress account
[b]Once you logged in, on the right-hand upper corner of the page you will see 2 options
“My Sites” and “Reader”
[c] Click on “My Sites”
[d] Once you click on My Sites, you will see the list of your sites at the right side of the page.
Click on “Add New Site”.

If you wish to show different categories on the single site, you can do it by adding Category Tab to the Menu Option in Theme Customize.

6]How to get exposure for your blogs?

Post the link to your blog on Social Networking sites(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest). Share it with your family, friends or facebook groups and other blogging forums. Also, make sure you read other blogger’s article on WordPress or other sites and try to follow them. The more you connect or interact with others, the more followers you will get. But, the most important thing is to try to improve your writing skills and come out with creativity.

7] Some of the companies that provide Domain and Host are WordPress, Bluehost, Hostgator, and GoDaddy.

8]Learn the concept of SEO.

There are millions of bloggers. 95% time the topic chosen by you is already written by many people. So, you need to really work hard to make your post unique through the writing process and additional information.

9] Virtual Writers cum Assistant

Many people want to start blogging for the sake of earning but do not possess any writing skill. In such cases, you can hire people to work for you. Advice: Please pay the writer a good amount because they really deserve it. Most people tend to pay a cheap amount for the writers.

10]To get huge traffic, you need to write topics frequently. You can either write daily or once a week.

11] Website Development

People who want to have customized sites can opt for a website developer. You can either learn website developing skills to design the site all by yourself and create your required blog or hire a website developer/ front-end developer to do the same for you.

12] Note: You can click on the blue links in the steps to see the detailed information provided by the WordPress site. You can click on the image added in the below steps to understand the steps in much clear form.

Second way:
You can skip with these three inputs and directly click on Continue with Google which will connect your Gmail account details with WordPress.

Step 3:

Give the name to your site which will act as domain name also known as the site address. Site address is the link of your site which you can share with the people and anyone can visit it. People who have already purchased domain from other companies can directly add their domain name.

If you don’t have domain name, then add the name in Enter a name or keyword. After entering you will see the number of domain options available. You can choose whichever you like out of it. 1 or 2 domain names will be free and rest of them are paid ones. You can either purchase the domain or just choose the free ones.

You need not to pay anything for a free plan. As mentioned earlier, the free plan domain address will be “” whereas the purchased plan address will be “” or any other registered domain.
With  Premium Plan , your site will be eligible for monetization. You can choose WordAds Program for earning through ads displayed on your site by WordPress.

With Business Plan , you can monetize your site through different sources. You can allow WordAds. You can even apply for Google Adsense Program. You will have more exposure to add plugins. Business plan is more useful by the website developers to customize the site the way , they want it to be.

Step 5: Congratulations !! Your site has been created.
But, we still have more things to do in order to give proper designs and layout to your site.
First, verify your email id by clicking on Resend email button.

Step 6:
Time to design your site. Choose/Click on  Customize Themes from the list of the left menu on the site.

Next, you will see All, Free, Premium plans.

All will show you Free and Premium Themes. Free is no charge for the theme. Premium is, you have to pay the given price of the theme. Theme is the design, it is the representation of your site.

For example: I have choosen this theme.

Open Live Demo will show how the chosen theme will be displayed. Once you are satisfied with it, you can choose/click on the Activate this design.
You will see this below message.

You can choose either of both buttons. Learn about this theme will direct you to the Overview and again Customize Site button will be shown. So you will land upon Customize site Page which will look same as the below image. This is left side menu of the site.

You can make changes accordingly to the site and click on Publish.
Your site is all ready to set go. 🙂
If you happen to stuck anywhere while following the above steps, or you have any queries then please drop down in the comment or contact me through the given details on the site.

13]   However, there is no guarantee whether your blog site will fetch you a profitable amount. It all depends on the efforts and money invested to get a good number of visitors on your sites who are really clicking the Ads. There is a guarantee to get paid from the companies for the blog sites that sell products online or write reviews for products. Thus, earning is possible through Ads, Product Reviews or Sales, Affiliate links/sales, and Sponsored Posts.
