Pieces Of Perception

Is it my view or
Is it the waves of depression everywhere?

Am I the only one seeing it or
the clouds of anxiety visibly passing everywhere?

Can’t we take little steps
to restore ourselves back?
Can’t we attract the positive world
to pick up the good vibes?
Why do we have to choose
thunder storms over sunshines?
Why do we have to stay in the darkness,
when there is a stay-cation to rehabilitate?

Nescient make  jokes.
They don’t know what happens,
when the negative words are repeated.
They make fun of the terms,
slices of a sheer ignorance.

En-lighteners spread awareness.
They seek for change.
They don’t want
anyone to feel left out.
They fill up the void.

Everything happens online!
But, do the offline society know it?

I told them,
She has mental illness.
They made questionable faces.

I said she has depression.
They continued complaining about her.

I said she has sadness.
They said, she is a weird woman.
We don’t understand her.
We don’t like her.

It’s a bitter pill for me.
I remained silent!

  1. ” Why do we have to choose thunder storms over sunshines? ” We don`t ! They all come to us naturally, both the bad and the good, depending on what frequency we are on, depending what we think the most. Can they co-exist and should they?

    1. It meant as why do people choose to be around the negative groups and feel more sick by digging deepest . Why they have to involve more in negative sides of illness instead of trying to improve with other positive people and healthy habits.😊

  2. Cristina Petrini says:

Short but intense for a discharge of thoughts, emotions and energy!

  3. I have been discussing this a lot with my children and how some people have really negative attitudes towards others and don’t make time to listen to peoples feelings.

  4. I am around some thunderstorms in the form of people lately, and it’s difficult! Definitely need to try to push my positive light on them.

  5. This is so beautiful, so sad and so true! There is so much negativities and insecurities around us and especially online. So sad.

  6. Kimberly Caines says:

That is really a hurtful yet so beautiful poem I have read today.

  7. Beautifully written…the honesty is refreshing.

  8. What a relatable post especially n these times. Sometimes we have to take a step back to restore, recharge and get more clarity in your life – intentionally add positively instead of constantly discovering negativity.

SO many emotions shine through in this one. People have certainly changed in the past years.

  10. Powerful. It would be great if we all become more sensitive and aware towards each other.

I can relate. I am one who would rather keep my thoughts and feelings hidden rather than to speak out and be judged by the ignorant. It is difficult, but to keep my sanity, I remain silent.

    thunder storms over sunshines?”

THIS LINE is the line I want to say about today’s world, mainly the people around me. Why cause trouble when we should be nicer. Being negative isn’t the truth.

We don’t choose thunderstorms over rainbows. Being a person suffering from depression is so hard and it’s not something that you can choose.

    1. Yes Vicky. It actually means when we are depressed ,we should find ways of getting out of it. But, some people find other depressed people in online groups or other platforms. Instead of focusing on healing , they get dragged away with more negative topics which is not good for them.

  14. I think it depends on perspective and thoughts about situation or person. Some people just find ways to move towards negativity and may be its just a phase. Better to lay low

  15. Brittany Vantrease says:

Anxiety and depression can be crippling. Even when someone has a great support system, we just need to work our way through it and I feel that these emotions are the hardest to explain or for others to understand.

  16. It’s important to have these talks. Especially with kiddos and it’s never too early to start!
