5 Myths of Psychological Facts

Part 1 : 5 Myths of Psychological Facts

5 Myths of Psychological Facts

Not all psychological facts are true. Some are made up by the people. In Part 1 Post, I have listed out 5 common psychological facts which are not convincing.

When offered to write with a new pen, 97 % of people first write their own name .

This statement cannot prove the reality. When offered to write with a new pen, most people will scribble(usually scribble lines). They will check whether the pen writes or not. Another set of people will continue writing the sentence, they stopped earlier. (This is due to empty ink status of the previous pen.) Very few people will first write their name with a new pen.

What do you write first, when you are offered to write with a new pen?

You rarely die in your dreams, whenever you do ,it indicates that you have started something new in your life.

Depressed people tend to see this type of dream often. It is common to have such a nightmare once in a while for everyone. Dying in your dream does not mean you have started something new in your life. Rather, most of the people get this dream, when they are unhappy in their life.

What does your last dream indicate?

The internet trolls are narcissistic, psychopathetic, and sadistic

Not everyone is suffering from mental disorder. The internet trolls are here to make others happy. They share their jokes/memes , their sarcasm and entertain others. We can find narcissistic, psychopathic and sadistic people anywhere . It is not specifically tagged to the internet trolls.

What do you think about the personality of the internet trolls?

Convincing yourself you slept well, will trick your brain into thinking it did.

You can try to be optimistic and not overthink of not getting enough sleep earlier night. But, convincing yourself you slept well will not be good for your health. Doing this every now and then, will have bad impact on your health conditions. Not getting enough sleep can affect your focus/concentration levels.

What trick do you use to convince your brain you slept well?

The maximum time a women can keep secret is 47 hours and 15 minutes.

Totally, disagree. The person who keeps the secret for a longer time has nothing to do with gender. It all depends upon the personality behavior. It can even depend on whether the secret is a threat and it needs to be shared with someone or not.

How long did you keep a secret with you?

Share your answers to the above 5 questions in the comment of this post.
Let’s have fun in seeing different responses.
I will be happy to read the psychology facts you heard till date. You can write about it in the comment.

I like the last one. Yes secrets can kept not based on gender but based on the person.

  2. Nice post. I agree, some of those ‘facts’ are totally untrue.

If you gave me a pen, I’d scribble lines to check it worked.
    I’ve never dreamed about dying.
Yes, horrible people can be found everywhere, not just as internet trolls. (The internet gets a lot of bad press for this though)
Quality sleep is important. Having bad sleep and convincing yourself it was good sleep would be crazy. It would be better to work on better sleeping habits.
Secrets..I’m female, I can keep a secret. But I think it has nothing to do with gender.

    1. Thank you for reading 😊 and thank you for sharing your view on each queries. Good to know 😊

  3. So funny I had to stop and think about the first one because I work in a shop that sells pens and when customers are writing with a new pen, they hardly ever write their name. One recently wrote hungry, which I get represented their hunger for food πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    The secret one was interesting

  4. This is cool! I didn’t know some of these myths. For example, I’m with you, I can totally keep a secret. It helps that I don’t talk to a lot of people πŸ˜‰

  5. This is really interesting, if I have a new pen I either do a wiggly line or write hello! I’m not sure if I’ve ever dreamed of dying, definitely of panic and near death, but of death itself I’m not sure.

Everytime I get a new pen to review, the first thing I write is my name too. I have to agree about the Internet trolls. 16. I think you’re right, most of these “pyschologial facts” aren’t facts. For one thing, I for sure don’t write my name every time I come across a pen lol. the only time is when my name is specifically asked in a form or something.

  17. I always write my first name lol πŸ˜‚ didn’t realize it until I read this also can’t remember ever dying in my dream maybe fighting but never dying
